Antique Regency Figured Mahogany Corner Commode

English Regency period furniture of especially clever design, this is a commode/ washstand made to fit into a corner. It opens up to allow access to a wash basin with a two-sided splash guard (the bowl is missing) and two smaller holes for glasses or holding cups. The exterior is beautifully finished and inlaid mahogany, and the legs are slender and elegant. Size: 22 1/2 inches tall, and 18 inches deep. Provenance: Estate of General Joseph McNarney.
