15 Hardcover books, all in dust jackets, published by Little Brown. The prolific Thornton Burgess penned 170 books during his career, and represented here are 3 books from the Mother West Wind Series and 12 from the Bedtime Story-Book series. Mother West Wind Series: 1. Old Mother West Wind, 1922 Printing in tan cloth with a two color vignette to front cover. Light wear to corners and an owner name in pen on endpaper. Unclipped jacket with some light loss at the spine ends. 2. Mother West Wind's Friends, 1918 printing. Tan cloth with color vignette to front cover. Owner inscription in pen on endpaper. Unclipped jacket a bit soiled with a chip at rear top fold of a quarter inch. Spine ends of the jacket present well. 3. Mother West Wind "Where" Stories, 1936 printing. Tan cloth with two color vignettes to front cover. The preliminaries and jacket flaps are a bit foxed but book otherwise internally unmarked. Unclipped jacket fully intact but for a 1/4 inch chip at bottom left corner of the spine. 12 Titles from the Bedtime Story-Book Series: All 12 are done in grey cloth with red and black vignettes to the covers. All are illustrated by Harrison Cady. All jackets have some light soiling. 1. Adventures of Reddy Fox, 1923 printing. Owner inscription in pen on the pastedown. Else clean internally. Jacket with loss at spine ends and corners. 2. Chatterer the Red Squirrel, 1928. Owner name in pen on ep and a small news article about squirrels glued to pastedown. Jacket somewhat soiled with loss at the spine ends. At bottom spine, the loss affects some lettering. 3. Adventures of Jerry Muskrat, 1922. Owner inscription in pen on the pastedown. Jacket with 2 inch loss to bottom spine. Lighter loss at top spine and corners. 4. Adventures of Old Mr. Toad, 1919 printing. Owner inscription under jacket flat on the pastedown. Jacket with some loss at spine ends and corners and some short closed tears in top of front panel. 5. Adventures of Johnny Chuck, 1934 printing. Light tanning to pages, no names or marking internally. Jacket with some loss at spine ends, corners and some chipping along the top front panel. 6. Adventures of Mr. Mocker 1933, printing. Light tanning to pages, no names or marking. Jacket is price clipped with light-ish loss at spine ends/ corners and a small chip bottom front panel. 7. Adventures of Grandfather Frog, 1930 printing. No names or marking. Jacket chipped at spine ends and corners. 8. Adventures of Bob White, 1928 printing. No names or marking. Jacket with light wear to the extremes and some light soil. 9. Adventures of Paddy the Beaver, 1930 printing. No names or marking. Jacket with some foxing and soil. Some loss at the extremes, with top of spine lettering affected. 10. Adventures of Buster Bear, 1923 printing. No internal markings. Jacket with significant chipping to edges on both panels. Some loss at spine ends. 11. Adventures of Prickly Porky, 1920. Owner name in pen on endpaper. Jacket with some loss at the top of spine and corners. 12. Adventures of Danny Meadow Mouse, 1931 printing. No names or marking.
