19th-Century California Patented “Grand Pacific” Cast Iron Range Stove
Exhibition Grade California Stove by Holbrook, Merrill, Stetson San Francisco and Sacramento, circa 1894
The Grand Pacific Range is clearly a top of the line model. The company of Holbrook, Merrill, Stetson exhibited at the Mechanics Fair in San Francisco and it seems logical an extravagant example such as this would have been a center piece of such a display. The early pioneers promoted manufacturing and the mechanical arts and this grand example is a testament to both. Dimensions are approximately 8 feet tall by 38 inches wide and 28 inches deep.
