1956 Republican National Convention Plate. Back of plate reads, "This plate is a souvenir of the 1956 Republican National Convention in San Francisco, California, and was presented by the CAlifornia State Host Committee for the Convention. The San Francisco meeting marks the first time in our Nation's history that the Republican Part Convention has been held in the West. It is significant that the occasion marks the centennial year of the first National Convention of the Party whose first Presidential candidate was a Californian, John C. Fremont."
