1863 ‘Album of Love’ by San Francisco Resident Sophie Talbot
Description: Hand drawn pen and inked decoration, likely by Ms. Talbot, on the free end paper, done in the federal style with crest, flags, and American eagle finial. The album contains a dedication essay by Ms. Talbot as well as poems/dedications to her from friends. One friend signed “Jerome B. Stanford.” There is also a hand drawn and colored portrait of a young lady.
